As if things aren’t crazy enough at this time of year, Adfinity decided to move – twice: first to temporary space and then to our permanent home just ten days before Christmas.
Although we wouldn’t recommend moving twice in six weeks, we suggest that you purge your office clutter more than once every nine years. Some of the archives we found during our move dated back to the early 70’s when layouts were done as key lines and photo files were kept in a box.
It’s no secret that creative types tend to be pack rats. You never know when that shiny thing might spark a new idea. And your grandkids will surely want to see your first ad concept. And how could you possibly give up that doo-hickey? Inspiration can come from anywhere.
Coincidentally, there are some frightening similarities between pack rats that hole up in an advertising agency and the Neotoma cinerea.
If the four-legged pack rat finds something it wants, it’ll drop what it’s currently carrying and “trade” it for the new item. Sound a little like ADD? They can also be quite vocal and boisterous, sounding at times as if a “family rift” is taking place. Ever sat in on one of our staff meetings?
We may be a little nutty from our recent moves, but we love our new home and we love what we do. We look forward to helping our clients succeed in 2011 with hoards of great marketing ideas. Happy Holidays from the Adfinity Rat Pack.
